Why is the 32CrMo steel perforating gun easy to be corroded in a wellbore with high carbon dioxide gas partial pressure?

The perforating gun is usually composed of 32CrMo steel, and we carry out a series of tests on the corrosion problem of 32CrMo steel in the high carbon dioxide gas partial pressure wellbore, and study the influence of temperature, carbon dioxide partial pressure, flow rate and moisture content on the corrosion rate of 32CrMo steel. The results show that under the temperature condition of 40℃, the corrosion product film of 32CrMo steel is a single-layer structure, which has a weak protective effect on the matrix; at 80℃, the corrosion product film is a double-layer structure, which has a certain shielding and blocking effect on the corrosive medium; at 130℃, the upper product film is regularly dense, and the anti-corrosion protection effect of the matrix is further enhanced. The corrosion rate of 32CrMo steel decreases with the increase of temperature, increases logarithmicly with the increase of partial pressure of carbon dioxide, increases linearly with the increase of flow rate, and increases sharply with the increase of moisture content of corroded medium.
